This is a truly special guitar. The first thing that jumps out to us, is that though it hearkens to a Les Paul shape, it's actually not - it's more like the old Gibson L-5s (played by Pat Martino in the 70's). What this means is that the balance is great - it's not butt-heavy and clumsy like a Les Paul, so it will sit perfectly on your lap and hang comfortably from a strap - truly a more intelligent design. Also, this one is semi-hollow, so the weight is exceptional and the resonance is great. A perfect guitar for blues, bebop, Allman Brothers jammin' or even Chet-style picking - it not only looks like a million bucks - it sounds like it too.
We custom ordered this one, and it has has a natural finish on the top (which is beautiful solid AAA curly maple) and a walnut finish on the mahogany back and sides. The ebony fingerboard is set with attractive real Mother of Pearl blocks and the gold hardware matches it all with perfection. The HRW pickups are wound by Rendall Wall and represent some of the finest pickups on the market today -seriously - give them a try.
Honestly this is one of the most unique, beautiful and versatile guitars we've EVER had in here. We hope it winds up in loving hands!
