This is a very impressive older German violin stamped "Steiner" on the back near the neck heel. It has beautiful flamed maple 2-piece back and the spruce top has plenty of character from years of playing - it's still in great condition. The archings of the top and back are very extreme and bulbous, no doubt helping to shape it's remarkable sound. It is very rich and warm with a nice bit of high end for projection. Great deal on a neat older violin. No label inside other than a repair label from J.B. Miller of Lexington, KY from 1979.
Includes case and bow.
