A very nice sounding and rare guitar, this 12-Fret OOO was built by luthier Bill Tippin in Marblehead, Massachusetts (the hometown of the nautically advanced soldiers who bravely ferried George Washington and members of the Continental Army across the Delaware River to the historic Christmas Day Battle of Trenton).
A very high quality acoustic instrument, it is solid Indian Rosewood with a beautiful Spruce top - it's silky and perfectly quartered. The mahogany neck is full in your hand, perfect for players who like a bit of (but not too much) meat. The Ebony fingerboard has slotted diamonds and the side dot markers appear to be very small solid gold dots. It's really very classy looking - especially with the dark wood soundhole rosette (may be Koa). It has a very attractive slotted headstock and high quality Waverly Tuners.
This would make a fine guitar for bluesmen, flatpickers, and flingerstylists alike. It's in great shape with just a few very, very minor dings. It was largely used as a backup guitar for open tunings by original owner so it truly has little wear. It could make a fine addition to your collection for sure.
Comes with a very nice Hardshell Case.
