These are the original coating style of Elixir strings. The coating is a bit thicker and visible - the result is a string that is slightly more mellow and has minimal string noise.
Now updated with an undetectable plating on the plain strings to ensure extra life on those too.
These really are super strings and you'll be glad you've got 'em on your guitar.
