We're really impressed and happy to offer these J. Bovier Mandolins. This model features all solid carved Maple (very pretty) and Spruce with a radiused Ebony Fingerboard and tone bar bracing. This makes for a great sounding mandolin - far above the common import quality. Considering the price, this mandolins is a steal. The voice is rich and woody - not a thin treble machine like you' might expect for the sticker price. It's bark is very, very strong and it can chop with the best of them. The neck is comfy and as a result single note lines easily fly along. Also a huge benefit in our eyes: this is the "long scale" of an F5, which is not really any longer in scale, but offers more frets before the neck meets the body. Very Cool.
Cosmetically, it's very nice too - the finish is well done and the burst finish looks better than some $2500 mandolins we've seen. Really, you're gonna be knocked out by this little mandolin.
Perfect for a professional back-up, lucky beginner, or anyone with a hankerin' for a good lookin' F-style.
