Every aspect of the new Taylor Electric Solid Body guitars has been redesigned from the ground up by their braintrust of incredible luthiers with some of the most vast knowledge and innovative power in the biz.
The Classic comes in a vintage White, with a pearl pickguard and boasts a playing experience that is Totally new and unique, yet unmistakeably Taylor.
Features include the Style 1 (also on the Custom Model) Electric Pickups, which are a 3/4 size humbucker designed in-house by David Hosler. They are clear, punchy and dripping with tone - offering enough to the Strat and Les Paul Camps while offering more tone colors still though the remarkable combo settings. They Balance the sweetnes of a vintage pickup with the ability to drive an amp with out being too hot.
The Bridge is a sleek-looking, ergonomic, redesigned piece that solves the intonation drift and feel problems of other bridges. Bridge height can be adjusted bth front to back and side to side. Each string sits in it's own saddle, and once the intonation is set, the saddles are locked into place with a hidden screw. Agles and stability were painfully perfected. Wait 'till you see it.
The Five-way pickup switch offers some very unique cominations for a wealth of new electric tones. Here's the breakdown:
Position 1- Full Neck pickup
Position 2- Inside Coils of neck and bridge pickups in paralell (skinny, funky neck tone)
Position 3- Full Neck pickup with the inside coil of the bridge pickup (adds fatness and drives the
amp a little harder for extra crunch.)
Position 4- Inside coil of each pickup in series (creating the effect of a superwide humbucker and
producing a truly unique tone.)
Position 5- Full Bridge pickup
Other hardware and electronic features include redesigned knobs for easy control, revoiced tone controls, and a fused string ground.
The body itself boasts an incredible bolt-on neck for durability adjustment and speed. The top is inlaid into the body allowing Taylor to define an edge with binding and then contour up to that edge. The body is chambered, not purely for weight, but mainly for a tonal "bloom." But it does feel great too.
