It takes something special from an instrument builder for us to have it share space on our walls and on our website with all of the other fantastic instruments we offer. New Baden Guitars are just that – something very special.
Take this Maple and Sitka Spruce model – it’s a beautiful re-imagining of a traditional Auditorium style guitar. With a lovely approach to a cutaway, akin to what we’ve seen on some higher end adventurous classical guitars – the design serves several purposes – beauty, simplicity, exquisite tone and practicality. In essence it is two different sized soundboards – a shorter treble side (from neck to tail) and a longer bass side. With a longer bass side there is added flexibility inherent in the top, which aids the guitar’s ability to produce powerful and rich lows. Alternately, with the shorter treble side soundboard there is more resistance helping to create some crisp and clear highs. Of course, since this side ends further down the fingerboard than the bass side, we are also left with an attractive alternative to a “cutaway.”
So if you’re looking for a guitar to knock ‘em dead on stage; something that looks like a contemporary classic, something that sounds great unplugged or fully juiced, and something great for the price – this guitar deserves your attention.
Maple and spruce is a classic combo with such a great clarity and punch that many different types of players flip for it. It’s also excels in the plugged-in realm – the Fishman Aura Electronics sound great and the Maple is awasy notable for it’s feedback resistance. With solid maple binding, a gloss finish and a bone nut and saddle, you’ll be in world class guitar land for a whole lot sell than you’d send elsewhere. “100% handmade” is what Baden says, and we say we like it 100%.
