Stefan Petrov is an Eastern European who has been responsible for building some very fine Italian Recreation instruments. Recently he has founded a workshop, employing a small number (6 or so) of assistants who have quickly surprised even him with their capabilities - so he recently came up with this model, a Stradivarius built by his assistants. During the building proces, he is present and helping, making suggestions and such - then the final finish work is done by him as well. The result is a startlingly great sounding instrument with incredible sylings, superb playability and an unbeatable price.
This model is modeled after a Gaurnerius, and like it's namesake it speaks clearly with a full round bass and brilliant highs. When it's played, it's exciting to imagine what it'll do in years to come. Comes with a very nice oblong hardshell case and an octagonal Brazilwood bow (normally $99).
Set up with Thomastik Vision strings, an excellent dense maple bridge and ebony fittings (that work!)
