It takes something special from an instrument builder for us to have it share space on our walls and on our website with all of the other fantastic instruments we offer. New Baden Guitars are just that – something very special.
Take this Mahogany and Cedar A-style – it’s a beautiful re-imagining of a traditional Auditorium style guitar. With a lovely approach to a cutaway, akin to what we’ve seen on some higher end adventurous classical guitars – the design serves several purposes – beauty, simplicity, exquisite tone and practicality. In essence it is two different sized soundboards – a shorter treble side (from neck to tail) and a longer bass side. With a longer bass side there is added flexibility inherent in the top, which aids the guitar’s ability to produce powerful and rich lows. Alternately, with the shorter treble side soundboard there is more resistance helping to create some crisp and clear highs. Of course, since this side ends further down the fingerboard than the bass side, we are also left with an attractive alternative to a “cutaway.”
Featuring all solid Mahogany and Cedar, with real wood binding and a bone nut and saddle, this guitar has more to offer than a lot of guitars in price ranges far above it’s own. T.J. Baden, a former high-ranking employee of Taylor Guitars and owner of Baden Guitars, has put an emphasis on both simple, subtle, unadorned beauty and affordable hand-built fine guitars.
This guitar has an awesome dark depth, though with enough high shimmer to appeal to a fingerstylist, singer-songwriter, stage performer, studio player and beyond. But when you factor in the awesome power of the Fishman Aura Electronics (which is incredible on gigs or recording) you’ve got a full package instrument. Plug it in and you’ll be impressed. Play it alone in your living room and you’ll feel the same way.
And it looks great.
Includes a deluxe hardshell case.
