Josh Parker - teaches guitar and ukulele

Josh Parker

Josh is a professional guitarist, educator, composer and audio engineer based in Louisville, Ky. He has a masters degree from the University of Louisville and a bachelors degree from Morehead State University both studying jazz performance. Also while at MSU, he was a recipient of Jamey Aebersold’s jazz scholarship award.

His teaching career began in 2011 teaching guitar privately while he was a student at MSU. He moved to Louisville in 2014 where he has honed his teaching and performing skills. Most recently in 2022, Josh became the guitar professor at Campbellsville University where he teaches jazz guitar, works with student and faculty jazz ensembles, and teaches music technology courses. In the spring of 2024, he along with the CU jazz faculty were featured performers internationally in Santo Domingo at the Fiesta Sunset Jazz Club. He is also a featured performer at JEN (Jazz Education Network), and KMEA (Kentucky Music Educators Association) conferences as well as the Louisville Jazz Society Signature Series and Kentucky Heritage Jazz Festival. Josh has also given masterclasses at the National Conservatory of Music in the Dominican Republic, as well as universities and high schools throughout Kentucky. He has also his original compositions featured and recorded guitar for artists locally and internationally.

Josh teaches guitar and ukulele and welcomes new students of all levels.
